Member Highlights: ongoing/upcoming

Following is a list of ongoing and upcoming events by the member organizations of the Arts Council of Southwest Florida.
April 27 – June 24:  Bonita Springs Center for the Performing Arts – “The Art of Alvare, LePree, Spartin and Vita.”
May 3 – May 30:  Marco Island Center for the Arts – “What’s Old is New,” reception May 9, 5:30-7 p.m. Also Barbara Parisi in La Petite Galerie.
May 4 – May 22:  Cape Coral Art League – “Fish and Ships,” art featuring boats, water life, beaches, by art league members only, in the league’s gallery in Punta Gorda.
May 5 – May 12:  Bonita Springs Center for the Visual Arts – “High School Student Showcase 2017,” by high school seniors competing for college scholarships (26100 Old 41 Rd.).
May 5 – May 25:  Cape Coral Arts Studio – “May’s Bouquets” by local artists, reception May 5,  5 – 7 p.m., Rubicond Park, 4533 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral.
May 5 – May 26:  Art Quilters United – “Pushing Boundaries, Fiber Art,” at Alliance for the Arts Gallery (10091 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers). A display of contemporary fiber art, techniques including machine and hand threadwork, shibori and discharged fabric treatments.
May 11 – May 30:  Naples Art Association – “4th Annual J. N. Riedel Scholarship Competition,” by Collier County high school art students, exhibited at Naples City Hall, reception May 11, 6 p.m.
May 15 – 19:  Bonita Springs Center for the Visual Arts – “Elementary/Middle School Exhibition,” reception May 19, 6-8 p.m. (26100 Old 41 Rd.)
May 20 – June 15:  Visual Arts Center — “Water, Water Everywhere, “a juried exhibit open to members and non-members. Reception, May 25, 5 p.m., in the center’s gallery, Punta Gorda.
