Welcome to the Art Council’s photo gallery documenting the artists, meetings, classes, workshops, and many other creative activities that make membership in the affiliate organizations of the Art Council of SouthWest Florida . . . well . . . even more creative.
Please send to email@example.com your photos to share with your fellow artists and craftspeople.
Painting — master class
Wanda Kemper, one of this month’s “featured artist” at the Co-operative Art Gallery, drew an interested group to her discussion of oil painting and the enhancement of a composition with light and color.
Wearable — and fun
Lynne Wesolowski recently led twelve like-minded designers in creating great gift-worthy items in her Monoprint and Stencil Silk Scarf Class at the Fort Myers Beach Art Association. Everyone enjoyed the day! Having fun wearing their work are (from left) Elaine McLaughlin, Deb Hill, and Connie Bohl.
Weavers of Char-Lee exhibit at Gallery
Through the first week of February, visitors to the Co-operative Art Gallery will be enjoying an exhibit by the Weavers of Char-Lee.
Workshop for weavers
The Weavers of Char-Lee had the benefit of the expertise of nationally known weaver Rosalie Neilson at the organization’s recent Annual Workshop at the Northwest Regonal Library in Cape Coral. Neilson came all the way from Oregon to provide individual help and instruction with each Weavers of Char-Lee member on hand for the workshop, and bringing to the workshop some of her own spectacular creations.
Estero Art League featured at Co-op Gallery
The Estero Art League is the first organization of the Art Council to provide a short-term exhibit of its members’ work in the Co-operative Art Gallery. The Weavers of Char-Lee is the next organization to take advantage of this opportunity later in January.

Developing a ‘clay creature’
Stan Dzedzy was the second ‘featured artist’ at the Art Council’s Co-operative Art Gallery in January. Here he is shown working on one of his fantastic creatures made of clay, many of them featured each month in the Gallery. The Gallery Team invites all the affiliate members of the Art Council to nominate artists to be featured at the Gallery.
First ‘Featured Artist’
Ginny Whiteman was obviously enjoying her time at the Co-operative Art Gallery on Jan. 6 and 7 as the “Featured Artist.” Ginny is the first to initiate a new opportunity at the Gallery. All of the Art Council’s affiliate members are invited to nominate one of their artists as a “Featured Artist.”
Ginny is a member of the Estero Art League and a stalwart member of the Art Gallery’s Gallery Team.
